Warmth

Warmth

Just when I thought I had forgotten to smile

You came to me

Just when I thought this engulfing me

You asked me what happened

Just when I thought I couldn’t take this

You listened patiently

Just when I thought I couldn’t carry this

You smiled gently to me

Just when I had shut myself

You approached me

Just when I feared for the aftermath

You didn’t judge me

Just when I thought I couldn’t speak

You proved me wrong

Just when I thought it was over

You reminded me of beginnings

Just when I was second guessing myself

You didn’t even doubt me once

Just when these feelings had soured me

You guided myself to who I was before

With these feelings slowly dissipating

I felt like I had returned to my home

You who had been in proximity with me

You who had that warm heart always

I wonder where would I find a heart like yours?

I want to find it and keep it safe

Just like I would want to keep you with me

Maybe I couldn’t find it elsewhere

Because you have it

You who had been in proximity with me

But never that close to suffocate me

The love that came from far

Yet felt so close

I regret never opening up to it

The more I opened up

The more the world opened up to me

I must speak often

Before these feelings engulf me

I had been fool

Not to believe before

I had been fool

To suppress it by myself

I had been fool

To act cool

I had been fool

To deprive myself of this peace

I had been fool

To act as if things were fine

I had been fool

To reject help before

I had been fool

Not to have felt this warmth before

The warmth that was always around me

The warmth that came from a warm heart

The warmth that melted me
